Yes. They used to say nothing in a pig was wasted. I have seen old ladies do this with jugs of water. Of course if one had a tap it was Heaven.

Grannies are the most resourceful creatures. As far as cleaning out the pig's inners, that is not a job for anyone who wishes to keep the contents of their stomachs intact.
