i think the USA knew what they were doing for somehow back then we in the free world seemed to stay a step ahead of the Ruskies. They probably planted wrong info. for the Russians to pick up on.

Re: CCT
I find the internet tricks and hacks less believable because I'm a bit tech challenged, but coded messages left in holes in the wall and passed from one person to another seem more real to this old grandma...

Good morning
The Russians are highly advanced in the spy game. They probably learn the ins and outs of espionage from the time that they learn to walk and talk.

A different time, spies hid messages in holes in a wall. It all seems unbelievable now.

Re: Goldiec
It would surprise me if our own devious agents hadn't thought of this and planted fake trashed cartridges to mislead them. Or maybe destroyed the used ribbons so they couldn't be read.

Good Morning
Pat, this was an excellent post. I wonder why we didn't think this through and take more precautions along the way. This was a no-win for us and I'm wondering why our higher-ups didn't take all this into consideration during the war. This was a lapse in security that was unforeseen but it could have worked to our benefit. What if we used it to give them false information. It would have been a plus for our side.
