What an interesting post.  You reminded me that I haven't had jicama for a long, long time, and that I throw away too many things that I later wish I hadn't.

I had no idea that the skin of the jicama was poison. Thanks for the warning. As for trash, I save lunchmeat containers and pack side dishes, fruits, and chips for my hubby's lunch in them.

By the way, the skin of jicama is toxic, it has to be peeled off, but it peels pretty easily. And I've found it pays to buy small ones, or cut ones, because I don't use it fast enough, and it can go nasty kinda quick.

I'll be going to bed more intelligent tonight, thanks to you. I had never hear of Jicama, so goggled it and wow! Have to try it.
