There's nothing that could be better than Ellie's homecoming. Wishing you all the best in your new home, if I've got that right and that Ellie keeps strong and healthy.

I bought an inflatable cone to replace that huge plastic thing.
She is much more comfortable, and it's easier on our legs, furniture, and anything else she can, and does, run into on the way by.
I made salsa from our tomatoes, but not the hot stuff your husband would like.

I'm one of those whose pets are like my children, CCT
If I didn't do everything in my power to help her, I wouldn't sleep at night.

Good one, FSI!
I tend to think they are in cahoots with the insurance companies. They charge so much now that people tend to insure their pets just to protect themsellves. In fact, this place actually sells insurance too. Feeling for animals has nothing to do with it in many cases.

I doubt that, Ciel
He has already told me to recalculate, which was fortunate, because when I did I found 4 months that I had forgotten to add on| He'll do as he does with everyone, fight it long enough while hoping you give up from sheer disgust.

Re: Good that your baby is home again, and safe in your hands.
That would be ideal but, for financial reasons, I'll have to find some type of work, hopefully part time and NOT accounting stuff.

Good evening
It is great that your baby is home. Those cones are so silly looking, but whatever it takes to keep Elie safe from infection. We are planning to pick our vegetables clean tomorrow. I am going to freeze some, cook some, and make relish out of hot peppers for my hubby's lunch sandwiches. I need to pick my herbs from the raised beds as well. I also need to bring my ferns in and place them in my window facing south. I am just not ready for winter but it does not mess around when it is ready to make an appearance.

I don't think many would have gone through all the trauma that you suffered.
One thing I suppose one can see a vet because, well. I hope you won't be bullied into what is due to you.

It's tough when we deal with vetinarians and doctors in general with the God complex. They make bad situations all the worse.
There is a joke that goes, "What is the difference between God and a doctor? God doesn't claim to be a doctor."

Elie is so fortunate you are her carer!
With that situation resolved, the other stuff seems less daunting--I hope it all goes smoothlier than expected with the old boss!

Good that your baby is home again, and safe in your hands.
Retirement will be a good thing, but it does take some getting used to. You may eventually need to find some kind of volunteer tasks, maybe the humane society, or you could pull together some of your old blogs, do some editing, and write your memoir as the snow flies and there's a cozy fire inside. Between Habs games, of course.
