I suppose we learn a lot about it as we stagger along. The Cockneys had their own rhyming slang, and to be honest I cannot understand much of the telephone conversations these days. I tend to read the words on the news. Of course, once we were more or less confined to one area and understood where bist gowan. Up strit to get the Guts ache. Well not all like that, but some was.
