I remember those days. Out and about in the neighborhood without a care in the world until it was time for supper. Nowadays it's not possible.

Yes, there were good times, kids knew which plants to nibble. One seemed to be able to walk for miles without being told it was private property. Your scenery does sound more than attractive, makes me want to drift there.

What a lovely picture you have painted for us with words. I remember my mother talking about going for walks in the woods and picking berries. She held fond memories of those days.

Re: Good afternoon
Amen, Sassy - I worry that so many have their heads so deep in the technology they are not living or learning in the moment, absorbing real world info. And learning doesn't stop at the schoolhouse door or with the receipt of a diploma.

Good afternoon
I used to walk the trails too. In fact, I couldn't wait to get outside and stay there for most of the day. Kids need to feel the grass under their feet, play in the mud, walk trails, and investigate nature. Having their heads stuck in video games in my opinion has robbed them of an otherwise great childhood filled with physical sensory experiences.

Good Morning
Pat, thanks for sharing your wonderful memories. This post reminded me of when my Grandma and I would visit West Virginia to see my Aunt Ann. We would sit on her porch on warm days. We would all pick a color and wait for cars to go by in front of the house. We would count our color cars and whoever had the most cars with their color would win. I would be so excited when my color would win. That was a very long time ago.
