Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec
It is usually when a full moon glows that the chance is higher. Of course with the planet warming who knows what will happen.

Re: Kabu
Mr Graysome mouse alert. I don't really worry about them, it is the bigger cousins that come running across when the bird tables dry up.

Re: adnohr
It is rather annoying sometimes we get one early frost and then mild weather follows. I have loads of stuff to burn, but one has to be careful I usually wait for a wet day. Archie says snow is forecast at the end of this month. We might get a sprinkle. Hope you feel better

The vermin who come looking for birdseed in our neighborhood
include skunks. Father Mike - who lives two doors down - tells me he sees them at night sometimes on the school grounds across the street. The city doesn't want us hanging bird feeders because apparently there's a widespread problem with the black and white stinkers - but some hang them anyway. I think it's just about time for a nice batch of nourishing bean soup, cooked with a ham hock for flavor.

Re:
Ciel . we wait for the frost and then cut the stems off to about 3to 4 inches. If you
want to be sure, dig up and store in a frost-free place covered with soil. We now
have to cover ours with a thick mulch as the roots are too large to lift. We have not
had bad weather winter -wise recently so it's a case of luck.

We brought the tender flowers in their pots inside: we have been warned of a freeze coming overnight or tomorrow.
I remember something vaguely about how to over-winter dahlias, but it's very vague. Any suggestions?

What date do you usually have frost? They are predicting only the very end of October for us here, but their predictions are often off the mark. Yes -sometimes it's nice to keep a special event as a secret, so that it stays special.

I saw a mouse run into a hole in the house, yesterday.
I did not like to see that mouse run into that hole into the house.
No not at all, yesterday!

Those sweet thoughts can lead to trouble, but she cannot say that she wasn't warned, because he did tell her so.

Good afternoon
The birds and the vermin never fail to find good pickings in our yard. We are quite liberal with the feed, seeds, and scraps, keeping them fattened up for the winter.

Good Afternoon
I want to wish you a good Sunday. I hope you don't get frost too early. It's been unseasonably warm here for the last week. I'm sure it will be changing soon.
