If you have spare bedrooms...have you thought of getting a roomie? Or maybe moving into a house with 2 or 3 other ladies (remember Golden Girls). Just a thought

Re: adnohr

If I go with an apartment, and I lived above first floor level, there would have to be an elevator. Canada sounds wonderful but I need to stay close to the old familiar.  I do from time to time have memories of hiking the deep woods and the peace that brings.

In our area most of the houses are 1 or 2 bedroom. In fact, a 3 bedroom house is rather rare. I have lots of room if you want to come to Canada. But alos have many stairs in this shack. Maybe an elevator???

Good Afternoon

Pat, I wish you the very best.  I hope you find the perfect house.  I've had a bungalow and now a ranch.  A ranch house is nice because it's on one floor.  I think that might work for you.

Good morning

One-bedroom, one-story homes are hard to find. That is what I live in right now, but we would prefer a two-bedroom, two-bath house so that the grandkids and guests have a place to stay overnight comfortably. My hubby and I are at the same stage as you are. We prefer a home without steps due to safety reasons and aging. A garage is a must, and I can do without a cellar. We've been house hunting for the past two years for the perfect home, although we would love to own our current house that we reside in. Unfortunately, the owner refuses to sell. I believe that when the time is right the perfect house will suddenly become available to both you and us. The housing market is about to open up and the prices are slowly declining. Good luck to you. Maybe you should keep an eye out on Marketplace. It is on Facebook. (20+) Facebook Marketplace | Facebook

The steps here are a consideration, but I am not ready to give up on being up above the street. And for sure, I am not ready to pack, sort, and dispose of all the accumulations of things I've enjoyed having around me!

We are all getting to the stage where we should have moved to a few years ago.

Well, not all but it is usually too late. I wonder if you should try for a two-bedroom.

One never knows, what kind of help one would need, it is nice to have a choice.
