Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec

Well, it is frowned on here, but not authorized. Some do not trouble as long as the fuel burns and is cheap.

Re:Pat

Yes, recently folk bought wood-burning stoves. They did not realize it was not going to save money.

Re: adnohr

I expect there is plenty of wood in your area. Of course, we all used to burn coal until it was banned in some parts and others unless it was treated.

I do buy wood by the cord each spring or fall, it's 90$ Canadian a cord of dry natural wood, chopped and delivered, and sometimes we have a tree that has fallen on my property and it will be cut up and used too. That poem made me giggle - he's made sure to keep his options open!

It's that time of the year for wood. Hard to believe for me...Ms. Wolfy Dunn sure has a lot of fun.

what fun your poem is and brought such a wide grin to my face. I love a wood fire but they are dustry and I want to try and leave a small foot print if I can.

In days gone by, when we used a wood-burning kitchen stove,

we bought firewood by the cord. The guy who sold it to us sawed the long into short lengths, about 12-14" long. Each of those pieces was divided chopped to about a 6" thickness. It was up to us to cut it with an axe to cut each of those into smaller pieces -- about the thickness of a wrist -- for use in the stove.

Good Afternoon

In our village, we are not allowed to have a fire.  There's an ordinance against it.
