Sea Gypsy, this adds detail to Carrie's life and fleshes out her situation. Having the guy become a co-worker complicates things nicely. I like this.

Pat - This was great fun!
Carrie sat at her desk, bored. Nothing exciting ever happened in her office. She stared at the pile of yellow manila folders on her desk waiting for her to at least look at them. They stared back. God, how she wished she at least had an outside view to distract her. Footsteps alerted Carried to someone in the hall coming toward the office. The sound of heels clomping. A woman walking fast. Had to be Misty prancing up and down the halls again.
Too bad Misty was her supervisor. People like her, like Misty, kiss-assed their way up. Hah! Literally, Carrie thought to herself. She almost smiled at her own humor. Yep, it was Misty coming through the office door but she wasn't alone. What the F? NO. No way! The guy! THAT guy! Misty had that guy from the park with her. How could that be?
"Carrie, I'd like you to meet the newest member of our team. He's just been transferred in from..."

Nothing on her next two visits so she shrugged her shoulders and decided to forget him; trouble was she felt a tiny tug of diasappointment at the thought. She shook herself mentally to stop being ridiculous
b the time she made another visit to the park the ducks were back. noisily chatting with friends and extended family, She was enjoying the cooler day the ducks when a voice made her jump. She turned to look...it was him.

Pat, I have to think about this for a while. I love a good romance so that would probably be the way I would go but then again something felt off to me so I'm not sure.

Thank you, CCT - this might put a romantic spin on the story. I think you are right, a love story is more compelling if there are hurdles to overcome.

Well, somehow, I don't feel this is the right guy for Carrie. I did not like the way he
was huffing and blowing. Of course, he might give up if she does not respond .
There has to be a spark of anxiety, a pity there was not a duck with a broken wing
that Carrie was concerned for, a young man who caught it and said he would take it
to the vet might have stirred a little warmth or admiration. Any way autumn
approaching is not the same as spring. As you girls know. Of course, I might be just
jealous.

Good morning
After much thought, Carrie has a talk with Jan, confirming that she didn't go through with the setup after she told her no. She then lets Jan know that she will accept the challenge and that she is willing to let fate play out as it will, and that she will meet up with the cute jogger due to the fact that he was friendly, charming, and went the extra mile to come over and chat with her. Regardless of the outcome, she loves visiting the park and will not let a bad hook-up mess that.
