I posted this comment on Goldiec's entry. To come up with anything else would be reinventing the wheel:

The FDA determined that boosters were necessary for those over 65 and those with health risks. The Biden Administration put the cart before the horse on that one. To me, the FDA is one government agency that is handling the pandemic well.

The World Health Organization is discouraging boosters because not enough people have been vaccinated initially. What happens is that it's still going to mutate as it spreads.

I do believe that the vaccines in the present form are not the future of COVID vaccination. COVID still spreads, and as long as it spreads, mutation is a possibility. They're great in the short-term. I believe we're going to be seeing more developments as time goes on.
