Re: Re: Goldiec, it is similar to Calabrian chili pepper paste
I make mine with Habenero, jalapeno, and hot banana peppers. It is a blend of olive oil, peppers, and crushed garlic. I blend the ingredients up in my food processor. It is spread on Italian hoagies or I use it in pasta and other dishes where spice is needed.

Re:
Kabu, I've always been like this. I can remember one time when I was about 4 years old there was a family that lived a few houses from us. I found out they didn't have money but they did have a houseful of kids. I wanted to get all my clothes that I didn't need and give them to the family. My Mom helped me pack some up and walk down to give them the clothes. I still have that memory. I will say my Gnomes and fairies do love me.

You are a sweetie. Always worried about other people and their needs and what you can do for them. No wonder the fairies and Gnomes live with you. They know!

Re: Good afternoon
Sassy, how are you making your pepper relish and pepper paste? I've never heard of pepper paste before. I have to wear gloves too because the peppers burn my fingers and hands too.

Re: Pat_B, you're right. Cash is boss in these situations.
Clean clothes and a hot shower are always a blessing.

Good afternoon
No alligator jambalaya for me!
It is a pleasant day here as well. Mild and sunny which is what my flowers, herbs, and plants are in need of this week. John's Habenero plant is huge and full of peppers. They are starting to turn yellow and red, so they are like putting a fire straight into your mouth. I have been making pepper relish and pepper paste out of them to add to his sandwiches and for a few of his favorite dinners. I have to wear gloves or else my fingers burn for the rest of the day after slicing them up for the processor. It is Friday for us, so we will either have a stuffed crust pizza or go out for Mexican food. Have a great day!

Re: One thing that will really help is a cash donation to the Red Cross.
Pat, I had no idea that they had portable washers and dryers for those without power. That would be a God-send in the middle of a disaster. I know when Hurricane Ida was gathering strength the Red Cross was getting ready to go to Louisiana. They are amazing.

Re:
FSI, Ida really did cause so much destruction. I've never lived through a hurricane but just from what I've seen on the weather channel, they are so dangerous.

One thing that will really help is a cash donation to the Red Cross.
They provide shelters, food, water - and even take portable washers and dryers so
those without power can wash their clothes and bedding. We don't think about such basic needs as a shower, clean clothes being hard to find in the aftermath of floods and hurricanes.
