Thanks for the information about the planting of sweet peas! I've never had success with them, though there is a pot with a few reaching vines on the deck even now. I wonder if they can be overwintered indoors, to bloom next spring. I love their scent!

When my grandmother had my house years ago, there was an apple and a pear tree. Both of them died. I remember eating the fruit they bore. So good...She is well worth the dreaming.

Re: Sweet peas. I remember how mother made a frame and looped string over

Your Mother was a gem when it came to working in her garden. I try to go for heavily scented sweet peas, have to be careful the seeds are not edible mice like them though.

Re: Good Morning

I suppose each season has advantages we enter one and look forward to the next.

Most fallers have had a maggot, but of course, it has dropped out before the apple does. I used to dream a lot but not now.

I used to pick up the fallen fruit in our yard. It is tedious work.

As for dreams, they are capable of taking us away from the hard reality that life has a way of bringing to us all. At least they offer a form of escape when need be.

Good Morning

It would be nice for peaceful times to arrive just in time to see summer pass and fall arrive.  Bringing a blast of cool air and brightly colored leaves for us to enjoy.  Then winter comes upon the scene sending us inside to sit by the fire on a cold winter's night.  Everything would be right with the world as we watch the fire dancing behind the screen.  I think this is make-believe but it is a pleasant thought on a September morning.

Good Morning

It's always a question do we water too much or too little?  It's an age-old question that is open for interpretation.  Are the leaves turning yellow or possibly the plant looks like it is in despair?  A cry for help from a plant may fall on deaf ears but hopefully, if it's water they need a rainstorm will come and save the day.

Sweet peas. I remember how mother made a frame and looped string over

and under the top and bottom for the sweet peas to use for vining. She did a similar thing for pole beans, (string beans). It made for a pretty garden.
