Not being naughty. Still thinking about checking out the senior apartments. My daughter from Florida is coming here in a couple weeks and wants to go with me to check them out, so that's the plan for now.  I had no idea you'd ever been to Walla Walla, but I did know you'd been to British Columbia. Beautiful country.

If Goldie edited the stories, I didn't know about it. Grandma Lucy wasn't writing for publication, but to share her stories with her kids and grandkids - it would have been considered very wrong for any of us to change a word.

Are you being a naughty elderly woman and changing the subject about the close by elderly living establishment? Mind you, people's lives are stranger and more interesting than fiction. I have been through Walla Walla but many years ago.

Did Goldie ever edit the stories? Would be fascinating reading.

Re: Re: Can you imagine such a sight? Lol

I would love to see a bear performing such a hilarious act.

Good afternoon

What a lovely story and fond memory. With her unique vocabulary, she was a true treasure as is her writing that you now have. Those old stories are priceless. I used to love listening to my grandfather speak of WWII.

Re: Good Morning

Goldiec, my grandmother's story was about the time a man with a trained bear came to the small town where they were living, and how it entertained people who flocked to see it. The story goes the bear picked up a water hose and as he turned his head he soaked those standing around in the crowd, and set everybody to laughing. It happened when she was eight or nine years old.  I don't think I could match hers for detail or style.

Good Morning

Pat, you are so fortunate to have your Grandma's story on paper.  I have to say to me this is priceless!  She has been gone for so many years but her thoughts are on paper.  If it were me I think I would take her story and run with it.  I'd add my own chapters and make an awesome story that is both your Grandma's and yours.
