Re:

adnohr, this year has been crazy,  The heat, fires, hurricanes, and tornadoes have been off the chart.  I'm so glad that help is arriving for those in need.  I hope you have a wonderful day.  Thank you so much for your comment.

Re:

FSI, these people could be without electricity for weeks.  I feel so bad for them.

Re:

Sea Gypsy, I'm really enjoying the cooler temperatures.  We love salads and make them all the time.  So many people are willing to lend a hand when someone is in need.  I love it!

Weather seems to have more and more of an impact in the USA. If not fires, then hurricanes, and the high heat and tornados abound. Happy to hear the help is arriving so quickly this time.

My heart is going out to the people of New Orleans. I'm wishing them the best.

Re:

Ciel, October is a beautiful time of year in the city.  The trees are stunning with their changing leaves and as I've said before there seems to be a certain amount of excitement in the air.  We have a big sports community and it's always the talk of our town.  It's my favorite time of year.  It's been so hot this summer that I welcome the cooler temperatures.

Re:

Kabu, I think thunder can be very scary in the middle of the night.  They say we are going to miss the rain from the hurricane.  It's going in a different direction.  I hope you have a nice evening.

Re: I could not live in Louisiana, especially along the coast, but did enjoy

Pat, I simply cannot imagine living through what the people in Louisiana are going through right now.  I know it's very hot and humid there and without air, I'm not sure how the people will get any relief.  They were reporting there are about one million people without power.  I wonder where you go or what you do in situations like this.  I have to say unfortunately the alligators will come up in the flooded areas along with poisonous snakes.  That's a dangerous situation.

Re: Good afternoon

Sassy, your salad sounds delicious.  John's going to love dinner tonight.  I'm sad to hear your fairy garden is being put away but I know it's about the time before the weather changes.  I think raised beds are nice.  I hope you have a good evening.

Re:

Annicita, I've never tried Vidalia dressing.  I should get some on my next shopping trip.

Soon it will be October, and Ohio was made for Octobers! Thinking of that is when I miss it the most.

Re: Pat_B, I agree. I also had a nice visit there a few years ago.

They brace themselves every time there is a hurricane headed their way. The loss and devastation have to be really hard to deal with.

I could not live in Louisiana, especially along the coast, but did enjoy

a wonderful visit there a few years ago. I feel so sorry for those people whose homes are lost and whole towns are blown or flooded off the map. And to be in that heat and humidity with no refrigeration, no operating gas stations,  yikes!

Good afternoon

Garden salads are the best. I make a bacon, egg, and cheese salad on a bed of Italian greens with broccoli, tomato, and cukes. I personally love Caesar dressing, but John prefers Italian dressing. I am making fried chicken, baked beans, pierogies, and corn on the cob for dinner. It is cooler here today too. The yard is soggy from all of the rain. John is building me a raised bed for my herbs so that I can eliminate pots. My fairy garden will be put away to make room for the new herb bed. Have a great day!
