Re:

Kabu, I hope you do stay in the states!  I think you are starting to make the house a home and I love it.  Is the gentleman that you are staying with easygoing?

I bought some new furniture over the weekend. There is a big 4 seasons room and everything in it had gone before i got here and new carpet laid. A fancy two seater with places to plug in phones and my lap top and a single chair also with gadgets. If I stay my good chair I loved will be coming to me as well. Graysome will love that and probably claim it for himself.

Re: My birds have been MIA as well.

Sassy, you may be right.  After the summer we've had a really bad winter would not surprise me.

Re: Good afternoon

Sassy, I know you love dancing in the street.  It sounds like so much fun!

FSI, I think you may be right.  It's been like this all summer long.

My birds have been MIA as well.

Maybe they are preparing for a really bad winter.

Good afternoon

I am grateful for the heat this week. We will finally have our dancing in the streets that have been previously cancelled due to the rain. It is the last hoorah before autumn debuts.

I've noticed, too, how the humidity goes up after the rains. I think it's because most of them are quick pop up showers that only add to the heat.

Re:

Ciel, I like your idea of going to the Library or shopping.  We have two libraries that are not far from us and they are both very nice.  I'm going to try to stay cool whatever it takes.

Best time to replace furniture is when the current generation is ready to move out of the nest! 18 years sounds about right.

When the heat is too much--as it will be here most of the week--I find reasons to go out to cooler places like the public library, or shopping if I need things. We have a great public library here!

Keep cool enough, whatever it takes!

Re: I'm guessing the new couch fits in with the decor of the living room --

Pat, yes we do.  If it's out on the curb anyone can pick up what's there.  Our couch would not be the best piece of furniture for anyone.

I'm guessing the new couch fits in with the decor of the living room --

or you'll be thinking up ways to redecorate to celebrate the new arrival. On the subject of couches, my neighbor girl set two of her two-seater couches at the curb a few days ago, and a couple nights later, around a quarter of ten, I saw an SUV parked beside them, two young guys hoisted one into the SUV and one on the roof. They drove away very slowly and cautiously, not even securing the one on the roof with bungee cords... I don't think they intended to drive very far. Do you have the "free if it's at the curb" option there?
