I don't know about being friends but they can certainly be civil with each other. My brother was that way with his ex's.

Good Evening
To tell you the truth the couples that I know that have been divorced hold pure contempt for their ex. I have to say the marriages didn't go well nor did the divorces. I'd like to paint a pretty picture but I've not seen one couple that made peace and became friends. I have never been divorced thank goodness but it doesn't go well.

First off, I hope that you are feeling better. As for divorced couples being friends, I believe that they can so long as the reason for the split didn't involve violence.
