I hope your weather cools down. Zucchini bread sounds so good but it is very hot there for baking right now.

Re:

kabu, your gnomes are so different than mine.  I give them credit for knowing how to have fun.  My gnomes are so spoiled and they like their comfy beds at night.  I think I've domesticated them.  It didn't take me long.  They like to watch movies at night and snack on chips and popcorn.  Only yesterday Terrence told me how much he loves his home.  He's the young one in the group and I'm afraid I've spoiled him.

No wonder your Gnomes made merry while up here. Because we have such long cold winters and because my guys dig up gold every summer and make their wild barley beer and hooch, they stay out 24/7 all summer. Winter they have wild parties play poker with the crows and then hibernate. They always lose their gold to the crows; who in turn bury it in the same place each year and the gnomes go and dig it up to play poker and so life goes round and round.

Sassy, I think it's a sign too!  I'm not sure what's going to happen but most people will be very surprised when it does.

Re: Good afternoon

Sassy, my plants are happy too!  Some of the plants were drooping a little but this drink of water perked them up.

There are a lot of natural disasters and catastrophes occurring all over our big world at one time. If this isn't a sign I do not know what is.

Good afternoon

I left one of our bedroom windows open last night so I woke up to the thunder and lightning around 4:00 am. You're right, it was an unexpected but welcome surprise. My plants are happy campers today.

Re: The Cascade mountain range that runs north-south through

Pat, thank goodness they have warning systems that signal when to evacuate.  That is very scary to me.  Our village has a tornado warning that they use if a tornado has been sighted.  I think warnings are so important when it comes to bad weather.

The Cascade mountain range that runs north-south through

Washington state among other west coast areas, is volcanic. The earth is still sending hot lava from time to time, so towns in the area of Mt. Rainier and others have warning systems that signal when it's time to evacuate. It all looks tranquil, but the area residents are used to earth tremors, quakes ranging up to 6 on the Richter scale, etc. all part of the volcanic geology. After Mt. St. Helens blew in 1980 and things settled down, they were finding "emeralds" in the ash flow, and there is jewelry available now, made from those St. Helens gems.

Re:

FSI, that was just crazy!  I can't even imagine living through a volcanic eruption.  That would be a nightmare.

I can't imagine living near an active volcano. I think of that octogenarian who refused to leave when Mount St. Helen's was getting ready to blow. He ended up dying.
