I wonder if a law was ever passed? Now sloe gin that is really nice. Dandelion wine was O.K but I would be wary these days too many weed killers etc.

When I visited my friend in Ludlow she had made all sorts of fruity liquours and demanded I try each one. instead of a sip I took a glass. That night was fun next morning not quite as much. They had very high alcohol content but were so tasty. Sigh! She has been gone now for must be twenty years.

I have heard stories of home-brewers of root-beer and such that had explosive results!
In the US state of Maryland, grape-growers lobbied for a law that makes it illegal to make wine of anything but grapes.

I've never had the urge to make wine, although I do recognize that
the grape content in it is good for the heart.
