Re:
Kabu, I never thought life would be like this. It's like having to learn how to live all over again. The rules have changed for everyone. I never lived through a depression but this feels like one. To see so many families struggling and I'm not sure where this is all going to end.

Re:
Ciel, I did think about donating it but it's in pretty bad shape. The kids have been sleeping on it for years. I told Roy I want to get new pillows for the new couch and I am going to give the old pillows to my grandkids. They love pillows.

Re:
C_C_T, up until this point we have very few tomatoes. I'm not sure if we will get a good crop this year. The farmer down the road is having trouble too. It's not a good sign.

Re: Good morning
Sassy, I'm starting to see signs that the pandemic is far from over. I'm afraid it's starting again. Now they are saying that even if you have the shots you may come down with the new strain of COVID. I was hoping it was almost over but it doesn't look like that to me.

Pat, everything is so different since the pandemic. I'm hoping we can get our new couch in a reasonable amount of time. The salesman said the end of August and that's what I'm hoping for as a best-case scenario. The Mayor of Cleveland was saying that if they see a lot of signs of COVID they may have to lock us down again. I sure hope not. I don't see how our economy could take it.

I do hope you get your couch when they promised it. Everything is very slow. I think many people never went back to their old jobs for labor shorages seem to be everywhere.

Is your old couch in good enough shape to donate somewhere? Some charity places will come and pick up at no cost to you, and the item doesn't end up in the dump. Also, college students with first apartments have their own level of standards!

I think we would be in pretty poor straits if we had not been vaccinated . Probably a lot of the vegetables have had to grow during very hot weather. We keep watering our string beans and they are just beginning to grow fairly tender. Plenty of marrows but our tomatoes were late and have a heavy crop. One must not let them dry out or blossom end rot sets in.

Good morning
I too have noticed that our store shelves look bare and the produce is mediocre. We all have to get it together and get those vaccinations. One out of my three kids just got theirs. Going back to masks is the last thing that I expected to do after getting my shots.

Shipping has been held up from across the water where much of the
furniture we use is made - there was that ship - the Ever Given that blocked the Suez Canal for several weeks and stopped all shipping that usually moves right through. Plus layoffs and Covid restrictions that kept people off the job. One little item I ordered in May that was promised in June will not be here for another 16-17 weeks, which will be near Christmas. All Christmas items are also expected to be delayed, according to a news clip I saw on CBS yesterday - so shopping and buying off the shelf right now might be a good idea.

Re:
FSI, I'm not understanding what is going on with deliveries. They say it's the pandemic but the only thing I can think is maybe there aren't enough employees to manufacture the items. I hope things get back to normal soon but I really have no idea.

It's something how deliveries have such a lag time. I installed a hot tub in July that was ordered in April. However, there wee people who ordered last September and had to wait for it to arrive in July.
