It has been very dry here, but the last two days have been wet at times. our dahlias
are coming into flower. I was secretly hoping they would not survive the winter. It is
such a lot of work tying them up to canes and watering. It will be good if we get a
wet August here as the ground is on an old stone quarry and dries so quickly.

Sassy, it truly is a wonderful time of year! I'm enjoying the cooler temperatures. The garden got rain and it really needed it. When it's hot we have to water the plants more often. We have one chipmunk that is so inquisitive. He's always near the back patio. I'm not sure what his story is but I know it must be good.

Good afternoon
Sunday is a fun day. We have a local ice cream stand that serves all of the yummy items that you mentioned. You can't go wrong with lemon-lime. It is so refreshing. It is cooler here today too. We did our yard work yesterday and today the Hummingbirds, Cardinals, squirrels, and chipmunks are busy scavenging our yard. This is a wonderful time of year. Have a great day.
