Re:

Kabu, it was really hot but today it's cooler.  I think it's going to rain for most of the day.  When it rains I know a lot of people have arthritis pain.  I hope you feel better.

Re: Good afternoon

Sassy, I love tomato sandwiches!  They are so good.  It's a little cooler here this evening.

Enjoy the movie. Maybe the gnomes and fairies will want to watch as well.

Good afternoon

It is hot here too. No rain though. Zucchini soup with all of those vegetables sounds really good. I make a similar concoction but it is a sauce that I serve over cheese ravioli. Our tomato plants are coming in with a vengeance after all of the rain. I am looking forward to tomato salads, sandwiches, sauces, and salsa.

Re: Goldiec

BC-A, I just turned my soup on for the day.  It's cooking in the crockpot.  I hope it cools off by you soon.

Re:

FSI, if you get to a Farmer's market find the zucchini and bring a couple home.  You can fry them or make soup out of them.  There's one recipe online that you can make the zucchini into boats and then stuff them with whatever you like.  If you try it let me know.

Enjoy the zucchini. It's a cooler even hot. I have two small fans that work here.

Re: I used to love making a big pot of soup for my thundering herd.

Pat, your recipe sounds so good!  If we were all camping together this would be so delicious!  Sassy could tell her ghost stories and we could eat your hamburger soup.  We would have so much fun!

Corbin, how could you not like Zucchini!

I used to love making a big pot of soup for my thundering herd.

My specialty was one I first made while we were on a camping trip - I call it hamburger soup. Cubed potatoes, chopped carrots, chopped onion, canned tomato bits, and if they're available, celery and green peppers. Brown the burger and onion - garlic if you've got it, add a couple cups of water, then all the veggies, simmer over an open fire until you can't wait another minute, spoon over toast cubes if desired. Best enjoyed in a clearing in a pine forest.
