The problem with Christianity and the way most
people understand it is people think God destroys human life and the earth and personal property and Aunt Mildred, etc... but the truth is God gave the earth to humankind to rule and oversee. When God declares or gives something He never takes it back, unlike man. Here lies the problem. We bring God down to our terms and our way of thinking and doing things. God does not lie or reverse His decision. Mans decision to rebel against His benevolant creator and join forces unwittingly but surely nontheless with the outlawed angelic rebel brought the progressive unraveling of order into chaos. In other words: DEATH. God honered mans decision. The flood was not created, Mr. Lives, it was an event that was inevitable from the moment nature was plunged into chaos by man.The bible says that the 'fountains of the very great deep were broken up' Genesis 7:11. The flood came from within the earth, which belonged to man. God did not have to lift a finger. Anything out of harmony with its creator is in chaos. God will not step in and undo mans decision back then anymore than He will force you to believe on His Son Jesus Christ: who bridges the gap between chaos and harmony. Understand that it is Jesus Himself that does this: NOT RELIGION that has been manmade.
I am not saying that logic is bad, all I am saying that it can be misdirected and can potentially harm you instead of serve you.

I grew up up having Tom Baker as a hero. That show contained some genuine heroics and brilliant creativity. It would be great if they could somehow continue it in a contemporary flair.

Cantey, I'm a Dr. Who Geek too. If we ever get famous, I think we should talk some producer into continuing the series using today's technology and some great actors. And film it in the US, of course. No more Brits--no offense, Markd, Mills and the rest of you English blokes.

Just another one of those things you either believe by faith, or not at all. Each of us makes our own choice.

If nothing is impossible for God,
then why did he have to create the flood? Couldn't he just make all those who were wicked vanish? And then why worry about the animals, God could have protected them and kept them alive even when trapped under water. Stories like Noah's Ark make no sense unless they are myth and not fact. It goes against the idea that God is all powerful. It puts limits on him and says that he can not do anything he wants. This is fact and logic if you believe or not. It is just that those who believe are more willing to over look simple flaws in logic because they do not want to think that they may be wrong and come up with ideas like 'for those who believe, no explanation is necessary' saying it to be faith.

Noah's Ark
The O.T. also says, "nothing is impossible for God," to which I'll add, for those who believe, no explanation is necessary, for those who don't, no explanation is possible. Stop racking your brain over the details!
