Yes Pat there is still something nostalgic about the scarecrow. I suppose one has to carry on when the froth settles. Funny how one can kind of think someone is almost magical. I suppose it is reproduction ingrained.

I have often felt empathy for the scarecrows, but you brought this guy
to center stage! I like the philosophy behind the notion that the field guardian has empathy for the crows. It's a kinship with folks who work in a rigid bureaucracy somewhere. The guy with the engagement ring seems to be dancing through a fantasy world - if she says yes, I hope a bit of the fascination and mystery continue in the face of three meals a day and jobs to be done.
