I'm going to say more often than not it's a job for the vet.

Check the wound and see how bad it is.

Well, I would put it out of its misery, It sounds cruel but unless it is just a few

feathers missing I think the trauma would be too great, the cat may have punctured

its body as you know sometimes they do play with a victim and a claw can do

damage.

It really depends on how bad the wound is. I believe that nature always finds a way. If the injured bird is meant to live, it will.
