Re: Re: Goldiec,
Ciel, humidity is the worst. I just can't take it. Charlie is a sweetheart. It's so nice that he has his shows and so many interests.

Re: Pat,
Our landlord requested the sidewalk fix about 6 months ago, so it is probably ahead of the pot-hole repairs.
We look forward to thunderstorms at the end of the week. Sooner would be better!

Re: Goldiec,
But it's a dry heat!
The older I've gotten, the worse I handle heat, and high humidity is just horrible.
Charlie is indeed a sweetheart, and one of the nicest people I know!

Re: CCT,
They used to burn the stubble off the fields in Eastern Washington, I don't know if they still do.

Re: Sea Gypsy,
Everything is topsy-turvey! Lake Mead in Arizona has never been lower. It has no glacial or snow-melt to raise it.
There are no fires close to us, but we get the smoke all the way from the Pacific coast.

Re: sassyass,
They argue their opinions not really getting it that their opinion is meaningless without actual knowledge. I had someone once try to get me to seriously listen to his favorite politician on the subject, instead of my scientists and their observations.

I really enjoyed this post - esp. the bit about the hooligans...
The sidewalks on this block could use some leveling and repairs, too - but I don't think the city's public works department has that on their to-do list. The oldsters walking their dogs often walk out on the brick street instead. I hope the west gets some good gentle female rain soon and all the reservoirs get filled again. Things are beginning to look dire.

Good Morning
I'm glad your sidewalk was fixed. I just posted an article on Facebook about the heat out west. When I turned on my computer this morning it was the first thing I saw so I shared it. I love it out west but I could not handle the heat. The wildfires scare me because they destroy so much and people are not safe with air quality concerns from the fires. It was cold here yesterday but today it's going to 75 and that's a good temperature for me. We've had so many hot days here in Cleveland but I really think the humidity has been the worst. Charlie is such a sweetheart. He does try to do the right thing and sometimes you just have to make an exception and do what you want to. Don't tell him I said that. He could get into trouble. I'm so glad he got a better couch. I hope you have a wonderful day.

It is brought home to us when smoke is in the air. To think they used to burn the straw on the cornfields twenty years ago. Rather more hazardous these days.

My cousin tells me there are wildfires in Alaska, the lake is the highest it's ever been, and their weather is what I'm experiencing here in SoCal coastal zone. Hope your fires are soon under control and are contained, and that the weather is cooler in the day. Glad about the sidewalk getting fixed.

You just gotta love those people who argue that our strange and dangerous weather has nothing to do with our damaged planet screaming out in frustration. My parents live in Nevada. They told me tonight that the heatwave and drought are still in full force. Be safe.
