Times and families, they are a-changin'!

Some of us have been on the leading edge of this change, with child-care no longer regarded as purely woman's work.

Thanks for that great story. Fathering has changed so much but the one thing that remains a constant is that a good father is a good father. My brother was a single dad bring up his son. It's very hard.

What a great story. The kids Father could do if he had to but he wasn't much good and if he had to have the child for the day he would usually leave it with an older woman dying to have a bay in her arms.

He sounds like a wonderful dad.

It shows how things have changed. In some ways for the best.At one time there were a lot of single Mum's around as it was a good way to get a council house.

Of course once one takes that route one is usually on ones own. Not though it matters now the craze appears to be over and let's face it the Council has probably used all its available space and cash.

Good Morning

Pat, I loved this post!  Times have really changed since my children were little.  My children were all my responsibility.  I did everything across the board for them.  It's just the way it was.  I never thought about their father helping me.  I was so young and I just thought it was up to me to take care of the kids.  My husband worked and I was home.  He did like playing with the kids though.  He was a fun parent. My job was to take care of the children, clean the house, wash clothes and cook.  It's just the way it was.

Good morning

This is a sweet Father's Day story. I got lucky. My hubby was a great help to me with our three girls.
