LOL. We used to catch gators while fishing. The thing you need to know about gators is that anything that does not have a fat body is not very strong. Some will get up to about five foot long but be as thin as a baseball bat. It is when their bodies begin to get bigger than your thighs that you can have a problem.

The other thing to know about gators is that unless they are very hungry or very irritated, most will make a rush at you, but if you can beat them in their for the first twenty feet, most will break off the chase to save and preserve energy. We lived in Safety Harbor, just north of Tampa, and would go up to Fred Howard Park to the preserve swamp they have for them. There was an old OLD gator that was close to eighteen feet long that they called 'Old Grumpy.' He would make dramatic rushes at you, but I never saw him go much farther than twenty to twenty-five feet. I found it 'fun,' but I am weird. You should know that by now! lol

I am not sure that I would be happyb to swap squirrels and critters for alligators ....= but then we do have Black bears.
