Ciel, that is awesome! Thank goodness you have the option to go into a cooler room. We don't have a basement now but we used to where we used to live and on really hot days the basement was always cool.

I live in a split-level place, and the downstairs can be 10-15 degrees cooler than upstairs! And now I have a really nice comfortable bed in the downstairs guest room, so if nights get too hot upstairs, I've got options!

Ciel, I have to say Roy can handle the heat a lot better than me. If I get too hot I go into the room with air conditioning.

Annicita, I wish we had fruit trees. My neighbor does have an awesome lemon tree. We tried to grow strawberries but we only got about three for the whole season.

C_C_T, try to stay cool. Sometimes I find that on a really hot day if I leave the blinds closed it does seem to be a little cooler.

I always find it oppressive and ennervating, all the humidity and the heat. It would make it really hard to get out and garden!

Well it does seem much hotter than it was a few years ago. In the past, we had many wet summers, A lot of the older houses here are built of stone and before any insulation was available, the brick ones were not so comfortable in summer. Our first bungalow was only one brick thick we used to open all of the windows on hot days. No fridge, just a safe on the Northside

Isn't it funny one day we are shivering and the next putting on sun cream. We do not have air conditioning. I turn on a fan if it gets too warm. Of course, it never used to be as hot as it is now, well not since the Romans grew grapes. I hope you put sun cream on your small charges. We are rather strict about that over here.

Pat, I turned the air conditioner on in the living room very early. When I get really hot I go in and cool off. I hope you stay cool too! Do you have central air?
