Well done you do seem to have a go at most things.
A nuisance that hail, if we have it it is usually quite small
or some kind of protection like you have used would be necessary
. I think you are a bit earlier than we are. Folk buy soft stuff like runner beans
and they never do much good due to cold nights.

I have come to appreciate that they can generate terrible winds, tornadoes, and wildfires, so I enjoy them conditionally these days. We are not prone to tornadoes here at the edge of the mountains, but they can happen, and night time stormy weather generates anxieties, too.

I used to love a good thunderstorm, too - until I moved to the Midwest
where there are often tornado warnings and strong winds with them. I know the next presentation will be more fun for you and for the kids as well.

The hail guards are basically wire mesh, either off the roll like you can find at hardware stores, where it is called hardware cloth, or those vinyl-covered mesh baskets sold as kitchen decor. I find them at thrift stores for cheap!

Ciel, it sounds like everything went well. The child that had lots of questions will probably be the writer in the group. I loved that part. I've talked in front of groups before but I've never had to see myself. That would make me nervous.
