Awh, I love it. Her kindness touched him, I imagine. Then he saw himself in a new light though her eyes. And they fell in love. Great story.

Goodness, I bet that was a mess to clear up. Although it worked probably better than most things. A pity a dog was not there might have helped clear up the soup. How things change.

Such an enjoyable story.
I find myself craving a pot of Whatnot soup. When I lived in Klamath Falls back in the late 70s and early 80s, step-dad #3 worked at Weyerhauser as a sawyer. It was a good job the best that I can remember. We lived near a farm with horses and cows. I can remember those downwind aromas even though there was no pig to add to that fresh country smell.

Great little story! As Goldiec says, the pants were a small price to pay for the love of his life!

Good Morning
I loved this story. Thank goodness for the fire. Art's good pants were destroyed but he gained the girl. I loved the Whatnot soup in the giant pot. As I read this story I felt like I could smell the delicious soup. Homemade bread was a highlight at the dinner table.
