It gets on my nerves too. There are too many ads and not enough of the program, at least for me.

Living on the farm and a two and a half hours from the nearest city, I loved to hear the paper boy calling out the news and telling peopleto " get it here" or what ever. It was color and city excitement. Hustle and busy to get things done, to go home, to catch the buss or train.

Sixty ads an hour for a one-hour show! That one minute of ads for each minUte the show airs. Fascinating and we do pay plenty! The idea that it might be more is staggering. Thank you. BTW, your book just arrived. Very nice!

I have just bought my paper digital. I suppose it saves paper. One has to pass over adverts, but I suppose without them prices would rise. Used to light the fire with them.

Good Morning!

I watch General Hospital every day.  I used to watch it with my Grandma.  I used to watch One Life to Live but then it went off the air.  In soap opera land anybody can come back from the dead any day.  There's a lot of commercials every day but I'm glad my show is still on the air.  We lost newspapers in Cleveland too.  There used to be the Cleveland Press that was delivered in the evening.  It was my favorite paper but then we had the Plain Dealer and they only deliver on certain days.  Cleveland.com has a lot of our news online.

Re: Annicita

One reason I watch it is to pick holes in the story, to keep track of how many of the characters have returned from the dead through implausible means (Dr. Rolff's magic serum). To my mind, it's simply not to be taken seriously, but learning to use constant cliff-hangers came in handy when I was playing with "Days of Our Backyard Squirrels" for a few weeks.

I used to watch that soap. I gave up on all soaps. It was just too time consuming for me with four kids and a job and so on. I hope you enjoy it. It was my favorite!
