Like the diamond cross and chain I found - turned it in. How could I steal a cross? I would bet it never saw past the lost-and-found desk.

It has happened on two different occasions to us where someone has left something behind. Once, we found a handbag and took it to customer service to which the lady that left it was not far behind. She thanked us for being honest. The next abandoned cart was filled with several bags of groceries. We wheeled it into customer service so that whoever left it could come back and reclaim their items.
