Every night I say my prayers and anyone that I know is not doing well I say a prayer for them.

My Mother always prayed for the sick and afflicted. When I was little I knew what sick was but I always puzzled over "the afflicted" to the extent that I never heard the rest of her prayer. It was years before I thought about looking it up in the dictionary.
