I prefer to talk in person and if can't then phone call. I don't particularly care for texting.

A long time ago now when I used to smoke cigarettes, I used to smoke non stop when I was talking on the phone.

I never pace when I'm on the phone but I know a lot of people that do.

I often see people - or used to before Covid shut it down - in coffee shops

sitting with another person, carrying on a conversation while each of them are busy texting someone else on their cell phones. Seems a bit distracted (and inconsiderate) of your live and in-person companion, but it seems to be the thing now.

If I'm nervous about a phone call, I will pace. I didn't realize the effect texting had in that way with people.
