Madame was a daily visitor for about a year and a half. She would come right up and take nuts from my hand, even let me touch her! The closeup photos were not with a zoom lens. I think she must have been human-acquainted some time previously. She was not a youngster, either. I still miss her visits.

What a sweet little guy. He must have been in search of some food to be going crazy like that. They are amazing climbers and jumpers when there is a nut or seed in sight.

Madame was a black version of our local fox squirrels. They are not as big as grey squirrels, I think, but bigger than my favorites, the little Douglas Pine squirrels https://duckduckgo.com/?q=douglas+pin+squirrels&iax=images&ia=images

Ciel, I love your squirrel pictures. We only have brown squirrels. I sure hope it warms up by your soon. I've bought things before that have a new smell and I often wonder why that is. I hope you have a great day!
