Will Trubbles redeem himself somehow? Will Mellie be okaY? I love how in soaps people come back or a twin appears or some other plot device is used and we all love it. Just like we love this story.

I suppose Backyard squirrels have to be on guard all the time. Household scraps hold all kinds of problems with human pets out for the hunt. Most of our squirrels live in the nearby cemetery and chew the flowers which is quite annoying. Yours do seem more civilised.

Good Afternoon
Pat, I love these stories. Mellie has to always watch her back and it seems like there is danger everywhere. Everybody is looking for food and trying to avoid danger at the same time. They all have to keep their guard up and find food anywhere they can. Cece is taking a nap and Mellie can't be gone for long. It's hard being a Mom to a little one.

Survival can be fierce out there under that old Maple tree while scavenging for a nut breakfast. You have made animal nature fascinating since it is written through their eyes.
