Re: Sea Gypsy,
Oh dear! Rats are so much worse than mice, unless they are tame, domestic, pet rats who can be quite sweet and pretty. We had a 'blue' one, years ago--a pretty grey color. But the thing with pets of any kind is that sooner or later, they Get Out.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,
The ones in the closet were quite comfy until I discovered them. I emptied out the closet--a small walk-in type--put everything through hot wash and dry, and then re-stored everything in plastic bins with lids. It was pretty awful!
As I replied to Pat, these are not the mice that carry hantavirus, so there is that to be glad of.

Re: Pat,
Thanks for the heads-up! I went and looked things up to be sure of what's what. What I have here are mouses of the house, akin to mouses of the field, and these are not hanta carriers. Deer mice, which are, are recognizable different, so I can be sure these are not those.
I do thoroughly clean surfaces where they've been!

Laughing but not at you, with you. To get rid of it you need to take it at least a mile away to release. That is what I used to do.

Mice are carriers of the Hanta virus. I hope you scrubbed down and
washed your clothes and disinfected any surface the adorable little critter happened to touch.

Re: Re: Re: Goldiec,
Not many this year so far. Had to deep clean a closet last winter, though, and that was no fun!

Re: Re: Goldiec,
Ciel, this is very disturbing to me. I do not believe this is safe for you. How many do you estimate that you have?

Re: Goldiec,
When the weather outside gets cold, the field mice become hice mice! I know they have secret tunnels in the walls, too!

Re: CCT,
Usually the snap traps are reliable that way, but not this time. No, don't tell me about the rat!

Now Ciel that's why I like traps that leave no survivors. Goodness, I won't tell you about a rat that I caught alive last year.
