It looks like an interesting house to walk through and look at.

Re: Ohio & Pennsylvania has many of these beauties, Goldiec

I believe that Franklin Castle isn't too far from home for you. Our two youngest daughters live just two miles from the haunted Nemacolin castle. We visit it during Halloween. I can imagine that they are hard to keep warm in the cooler months.

Isn't that a lovely old home. Probably not as practical as today's homes but lovely.

Sassy, we have a house near us that looks so much like the one in your picture.  I always look at it when we drive by.  I would have to say it looks spooky to me.  I used to think it would be awesome to live in a house like this but the upkeep is very expensive.  Although I will say I grew up in a huge old house with very big rooms.  My daughter has always said the house was haunted.  I had no idea.

Re: Lucky for me, FSI, I get to photgraph these beauties.

They usually have ornate crown molding, hardwood floors, outdated plumbing, and sliding pocket doors, used for privacy when funerals were held in the parlor of the home. They each have a story to tell. Unfortunately, some are abused along the way and take thousands to restore. This particular beauty is in great condition despite her age.
