Oh, Bill, sometimes a person just wants quiet. But yes, sometimes music can mask a noise that is unwanted.

I am way back from the road and the snow softens any sound in winter and the green trees in Summer.

BC-A, I wish you could hear the snowplows coming down the road. It sounds like a bunch of tanks! If you didn't know what they were it would scare you. It's not as loud as the train behind Sassy's house though. That's very loud.

For myself, the Moody Blues' Peak Hour with the traffic arrangement. Most of the girls/women, and guys - are like you, Nirvana, AC/DC's popular, tees, sweatshirts. You find loud sounds simulating. I appreciate your participation here.

Lately, since the winter snow has arrived I would have to say no. The snowplows are so loud nothing will cover up that noise but I have the tv on all the time.

I am always playing music at home and in the car. Traffic sounds are a part of my life since I drive to various locations to photograph houses. I usually pop in an AC/DC cd or if I am in need of more mellow music, I play my Fleetwood Mac cd.
