People deal with grief in different ways I feel....the emotional support of family & friends is vital ....a few like to be left alone for a while....

It's different for everyone. I couldn't work the time my niece died. I was emotionally numb when my mother died. I still haven't grieved.

Grief is not something that I have ever completely understood.
That had to be rough. Sorry about your loss, especially at a time in your life when you had other pressing matters on your plate.
