I have gone through several slow cookers over the years. Some are better than others. My latest one is very good. The one before that started smoking from the dials. I used to make something a night for the next day, but all through the night to smell something like a roast cooking is distracting for sleeping - to me. I like slow cookers.

Re: Re: Goldiec,

Ciel, I have made beans in my slow-cooker and they come out good.

They are great for throwing something together in the morning.

By the time that you get home, your house smells good enough to eat. I have never tried lamb, but your recipe sounds delicious. I have a slow cooker, but it does just what its name says; slow cooking. I throw a pork or beef roast in with root veggies, seasonings, and broth.

Ours doesn't self-adjust.

Re: Goldiec,

The lamb stew was pretty good! I am saving the last of it in the freezer for when I need a nice rich meal! Have you ever made beans in the cooker? I have some dried beans I mean to try one of these days, just have never gotten to it.

Ciel, I love using a slow cooker.  I use mine to make spaghetti sauce and chili.  I would love to have a heavy-duty one but the one I have now will be okay for a while.  Sometimes I will cook meat in it too.  Your food sounds delicious.
