When our four sons were young we did a lot of camping with them in the mountains. Our favorite areas were "primitive camping areas" which had few people, much beauty, but of course out-houses. One day Mark came running to say, "Mom, David is throwing up." In trying to find out what might be wrong with him I got out of them that they had been having a contest to see which of them could find the smelliest toilet.

I was a year old in 1938, not yet potty trained, but when I was I never liked outhouses, and there were a lot of them around back then.
