We were used to large party with family and friends, but it's not happening this year. I made some Chinese food - garlic spare ribs, fried rice, chow mein. Two of my three kids dropped in and grabbed their basket, much like at Christmas. The virus cases here in our immediate area are very low, so trying to keep it that way.

Special dinners on New Year's Eve and on New Year's Day. The second one is sometimes leftovers re-worked. This year, it's going to be different: new salads and defrosted pork roast.

Re: Re: My mom adds sausage to her stuffing too. It is delicious.

She once made it with oysters. I like seafood, but not oysters, and not in my stuffing.

That is my kind of dinner. Yum to that stuffing.

Normally, my hubby and I would be going out to dinner or catching a movie at the theater in honor of it being our wedding anniversary, but this year we are spending it at home. It has been a time of change for everyone. We actually enjoyed a day of quiet instead of running around the city. A stress-free day was more needed than we realized.

Re: Goldiec,

Cornbread stuffing is very nice with sausage bits in it, and I just happen to have some Italian sausage on hand! Or maybe the little smokeys... And of course, you can add kernels of corn to it... Spiciness, if you like that, too.

Happy New Year!

Ciel, we stay home and I make a nice dinner.  That's as exciting as it gets around here.  It's been too cold to go out but I like staying home.  I hope you have a wonderful dinner tomorrow.  I've never had cornbread stuffing.  I think I should try it.
