Happy New Year! That was a lovely surprise.

I love when family pops in unexpectedly. We wear our masks too when gathering. You can't be too safe. I envy your deep sleep.

Happy New Year!

Taps, I think seeing family boosts our immune system.  Love and laughter are good for the soul. When my nephew came from Missouri I did the same thing and I'm still happy that we got to visit.  It was just before Thanksgiving and I will always treasure our visit together.  I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

What else could you do? One hopes this will not aways be the same.

My boys (old guys now) come over to check on me and enjoy coffee or

a lunch regularly, masked up while out and about, and we sit at opposite sides of the table or in chairs 6' apart - there's an elbow bump instead of a hug as they leave. But the comfort of their presence stays with me afterwards. Damn Covid anyway!

Re: adnohr

I'm not much of a worrier these days.  I got it all out of my system when my sons were in their teens.  That was a fun ten year and I really enjoyed it but I worried a lot.

You reacted in the only sensible and kind way that you could. They afforded you the courtesy of wearing masks. Let‘s hope and pray they are safe and healthy. My daughter brought over TJ’s groceries today and we stayed in the open garage, wearing masks. No hugs. They had been traveling to Utah skiing 2 weeks ago and she has been out for various errands until now. It’s a troublesome time. I should have had her come in as you did with your guests. It was really cold standing in the garage for a very long time.

No use making yourself sick with worrying over it now; it's done. So let yourself relish the moments of fun you had, the joy of seeing them again, and the rare bliss of hugging people you love, something the virus has made so rare for the past months!
