I like the moon best when it is full.
On the 14th of this month, we had a full moon, but there was no snow. I suppose that a snowy, misty night with a full moon could be quite lovely.

I do not associate the moon with a time of the year. I would say the moon looked great on its own regardless of the time of the year.
