Where I am at better off with the ride. Ambulances take forever to arrive. They're so inundated.

Hard to say. If there is time, an abulance is better. If not, you've got to do what you've got to do.

I would try to pass on the ambulance if at all possible.
But, I would definitely not pass if there were no other options.
