You spin a wonderful tale...true or not!

I agree with Sea Gypsy! I know of house spirits, too, from our family's experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and wish you'd continue with it, if you are of a mind to do so. It's a great tale and a fun tale.

Re: Pat

It is fun to be participating in Blogit again though I don't know how long it will last.  I have times now when I fall away for long periods.

Re: sassyass

I ended up with one of them when my sons were little and they loved it, but one of my sons turned out highly allergic to feathers and we had to rid the house of all feather pillows and featherbeds so he could breath.

Re: C_C_T

My Czech grandma continued with geese and making featherbeds even after they lived here in Missouri, USA.  It was a pretty standard wedding present for the family when each got married.  We had a wonderful one that was my Mom's heritage.  She kept it going for years and years by buying new ticking, filling it with the feather down and then washing the old ticking and storing for the next change.

Re: Goldiec

I thought you might.  I retrieved this story from my Blogit writings of 2012 because I thought that you might enjoy it.  My Mom and My Grandma Jelinek, with their Czech heritage were great at keeping us entertained.

Re: Kabu

Thank you Darlin'.  In the last few years I've had definite periods where I haven't felt well and have not spent much time at Blogit.  But sooner or later I always come back for a bit before I fall away again.  Whenever I am here, I always enjoy myself.  I especially enjoy Ribcage's part in anything because, even though he would not join, he loved feeling a part of Blogit.

I thoroughly enjoyed your story to the point that it all became believable to me. No wonder they made sure that gifts from the brownies were left each Christmas.

Oh my goodness!  I loved this story!  It's definitely a story to be shared.  I never knew that ghosts could become close to the people they live with.  This is just adorable!

Yes I expect It was a little bit too much to swallow,

I expect he was happier with you in the long run.

My old Aunt had a feather bed, it really was a joy

to sleep in it as a young boy.

What a cute story. You covered so many details.

I remember those old feathered mattresses. My great grandmother had one. I suppose that they would be easy to roll up in and be comforted from the rough waves. As for the Brownies, my oldest daughter was a member when she was in grade school. Nice memories. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure I remember this from the good old days on Blogit, but it

does sound familiar - and it's so much fun. Thank you for making the day better.
