Best of luck Ciel. Whatever happens it is a good workout for the grey matter.

I like to think of editing as the final smoothing of a rough sculpture.
Love your addition of scents - I've read so many how-to authors who recommend building in the five senses to sharpen the reader's ability to be in the story. It's the one detail they can't add to a movie. Have fun with it. Be safe.

Re: kasperhoe,
Yeah, changing things isn't necessarily a 'dis-improvement' but it becomes a never-ending process in self-editing.
I hope you're also having a nice day!

Re: TAPS,
They are subtle additions mostly, like mentioning the salty scent of sea air, or the dank smell of mildew, or that dusty, old-books smell in the library... Really, every scene has its scent.

I'll keep that on mind
First, good afternoon - or what I should say -
About the editing thing, "improve - not change"... I'll remember that. Hope, I can also deal with it.
Christie's Poirot also fits to my taste.
Have a nice day.

What kind of smells are you adding into it? I've never tried to put any kind of smells into my writing. I might try that just for the fun of it.
