Re: My local squirrels build nests in trees, lots of leaves, etc.
Pat, maybe our squirrels will take advantage of all the leaves in the woods. Roy's got a big pile back there. Thanks for the comment!

Annicita, thanks for the comment. I never thought about them getting into holes in houses! Can you just imagine!

Re:
FSI, Isn't that the truth! If it's recycling then it's raining! Thanks so much for the comment. I like to see squirrels playing in the yard.

I saw a couple of squirrels tussling in my yard. Very cute...It seems like if it's going to rain, it's going to be on recycling or trash day.

Re: Re: C_C_T, we have red and grey squirrels.
Sassy, we have squirrels all over the place. I think they like to run and chase each other. Sometimes I just stop and watch them. They are entertaining.

Re:
C_C_T, we only have brown squirrels. I don't think I've ever seen a red squirrel but I have seen some black ones but not where we live. I've never seen a grey squirrel either. Thank you so much for your comment.

Re: C_C_T, we have red and grey squirrels.
They frolic around our yard, hanging upside down from the bird feeders and eating the peanuts that I throw around the yard. They are a joy to watch.

Well we have grey squirrels and a few red ones, I have never seen a red one but the greys build nests inside old trees if possible they do not hibernate but sleep more in Winter and they have stores where they hide food such as nuts. In the cemetery they chew the flowers and as you can guess are not very popular. I once saw a house keeper skinning some squirrels, but I guess they thought more of as acceptable Wild life unless you want to preserve the red ones.

Re: It might be, but they are used to the feedings.
Sassy, that raccoon is definitely feisty! We have some feisty animals here too. If we don't feed the deer for a few days they come right up on the patio and look in the windows. I laugh everytime they do it. They want to know what the hold up is on their food.

We had a raccoon attempt to open the tin can on our porch where we keep the food. He had the nerve to stand up and stare me down through the window. Like I was going to walk out there when he was in a feisty mood. Not going to happen!

Re: Re: Lol, yes, they stay in my yard behind the shed.
Sassy, it must be really warm behind your shed. Their fur must be thick for winter. We don't have a shed but there must be places our squirrels stay.

Lol, yes, they stay in my yard behind the shed.
We feed animals and birds all year long. Our squirrels are spoiled brats who are used to us feeding them peanuts, bread, fruits, vegetables, pasta, and leftovers.
